 Leadership and Empowerment Institute Course Overview:

Purpose of Leadership Training:

To provide instruction and practice in:

  • Principles, values and skills used to provide conscious leadership in creating multicultural systems that are just, peaceful, humane.
  • Continued capacity building for personal leadership.
  • Preparation and self-evaluation for managing multicultural systems.
  • Participation in building a learning community.

The Course has the following units:

Introduction and Orientation:

      Introduces the training, discusses the purpose, guidelines for safe place to discuss race relations.

Unit A- Peace Within, Peace Between Peace Among, a model for multicultural change in the community building process

      Offers a conceptual model for leadership in multicultural organizations

Unit B- Core Values for the world we are creating

      Identifies values that conscious leadership employs in the building of multicultural and inclusive systems - a Transformative model for living systems, new ways of seeing the world.

Unit C- Models of Transformative Leadership

      Ghandi and King

Unit D- Self Assessment and Self-Development

      Offers an assessment tool for measuring networks of support

      Transformation- personal characteristics that support leadership in

      Wholistic, living, systems

      The Mandala

Unit E- Prejudice Reduction, Anti-racism and Race Relations

      Offers learning in prejudice reduction, anti-racism, and race relations

      Levels of Acknowledgement in Oppressive Systems

      Setting the Foundation
