Profile: Bonnie M. Poindexter

Executive Director of non-profit organization. - For 23 years I was ED for an
eleven county Chapter of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. During
those years the Chapter went from a deficit spending position to a $2 million
dollar surplus cash position. On several occasions we were the highest per
capita fund raising chapter in the nation. We also won a national communications
award and best all around chapter during my tenure. I retired from the March of
Dimes in May of 2002. I am now the Executive Director of FIRST, Inc. This is a
two-year therapeutic treatment center for drug and alcohol addiction.
Facilitator
and Board Member of the Foundation for Community Encouragement. For sixteen
years I have been a facilitator, trained by Dr. M. Scott Peck, for the
Foundation for Community Encouragement. I have facilitated Community Building
Workshops from Taiwan to Vancouver and across the United States. I am currently
cochair of the Board of Directors for Foundation.

Bachelor of
Music degree from UNCG. Center for Creative Leadership non-profit management
course. FCE facilitator training.
Personally - I am the mother of two 40 something children and a small
yellow and white cockatiel named Jerry, and wife to Gus.
