Crucial Conversations gives you the tools to handle life’s most difficult and important conversations, say what’s on your mind, and achieve positive outcomes.  You learn:

 1.      What dialogue is and how to spot crucial conversations
2. How to "work on me first," rather than trying to fix others first
3. How to notice when people are in dialogue and when they are in silence and violence
4. How to spot the top six dialogue killers
5. How to increase candor and decrease defensiveness
6. How to master emotions that destroy dialogue
7. How to avoid endless arguments and build lost respect
8. How to add power to listening skills
9. How to speak persuasively, not abrasively
10. How to make decisions and improve accountability

 FORMAT:

In this intensive 2-day training course, you'll learn about all of the skills necessary for mastering your crucial conversations. This course consists of direct, trainer-led learning, video-based learning, role-plays, directed practicing sessions, and take-home materials for continued learning and improvement.

Training can be provided in several sessions of 3 hours each, half-day programs or one-day programs spread out over time.   The full 16 hours of training is needed to receive all information available in the complete training program.

Linda D. Smith, MS, Organization Effectiveness Consultant, is a certified trainer of Crucial Conversations and has delivered dozens of training programs to a wide variety of organizations.  Having worked for over 20 years with individuals and groups in managing workplace and personal conflicts and concerns, she is skilled at facilitating crucial conversations and supporting people in achieving optimum results.  

This training was developed by the authors of Crucial Conversations, Tools for Talking when the Stakes are High, who are top international corporate consultants and cofounders of Vitality Alliance, Inc. and VitalSmarts.  Together they have developed dozens of corporate training programs for Fortune 500 companies and worked with Stephen Covey to found his leadership institute.
